In Case You Missed It
Sponsored by EERE’s Building Technologies Office (BTO), the American-Made Building Envelope Innovation Prize focuses on removing carbon from the buildings industry! The prize will award up to $2 million to design secondary glazing systems, a cost-effective alternative to single-pane windows that reduces the amount of energy the building uses and can be installed without replacing windows. To help BTO develop cost-effective window solutions to increase energy efficiency in commercial buildings, apply by June 13.
The United States has officially exceeded 5 million solar installations in homes, businesses, and large ground-mounted setups across the country, a huge step forward for the clean energy transition. Because solar power consistently lowers energy costs, the Solar Energy Industries Association predicts even more growth in the coming years. Read the announcement to learn more about how solar power is becoming the dominant electricity source on the grid, boosting community resilience and economic opportunities.
