Join us in Sacramento, California, May 6-8, 2024! This year’s conference will cover a variety of important codes topics like U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) energy codes funding opportunities from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act, building performance standards (BPS), decarbonization, resilience, collaboratives, and more. Seeking Nominations for the Jeffrey A. Johnson and Building Energy Codes Program (BECP) Early Career Awards

The Jeffrey A. Johnson Award for Excellence in the Advancement of Building Energy Codes recognizes leadership and outstanding accomplishments in the field. Nominees are considered based on established criteria across the following categories: Impact, Innovation, Collaboration, and Passion.

The Early Career Award for Excellence in the Advancement of Building Energy Codes recognizes early career professionals (35 years of age and under) with outstanding pursuits surrounding building energy codes and encourages continued growth in the field. DOE is introducing this award at the 2024 National Energy Codes Conference and plans to award it annually moving forward. Nominees are considered based on established criteria across the following categories: Commitment, Impact, Innovation, Collaboration, and Passion.

Agenda

See the timely and informative sessions we are planning for Sacramento in the draft agenda!

In addition to many sessions covering new buildings, the conference will also feature two existing building sessions:

  • A discussion session on how technical assistance can help drive Building Performance Standards (BPS) and other innovative existing building policies
  • Presentations from recent funding awardees on how they’re working with states and local governments on BPS to transform our built environment for communities everywhere.

Continuing Education

Energy Codes 2024 will feature several continuing education options for energy code professionals. Sessions will be submitted for American Institute of Architects (AIA), International Code Council (ICC), and Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) approval.
