2024 National Energy Codes Conference

The U.S. Department of Energy’s premier conference on all things energy codes will take place in sunny Sacramento, California, May 6-8, 2024. Whether you are new to energy codes or a returning attendee, the program has something for you. The National Energy Codes Conference is the only national technical assistance event dedicated solely to building energy codes and building performance standards, providing attendees a great opportunity to network with peers, engage with leading industry experts, and learn about the latest innovative approaches and solutions in the buildings sector. This year’s conference will cover a variety of important codes topics like DOE energy codes funding opportunities from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), building performance standards, decarbonization, resilience, collaboratives, and more. Keynote

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building Energy Codes Program is proud to announce a keynote speaker for the 2024 National Energy Codes Conference!

Andrew McAllister, Ph.D.: Commissioner Andrew McAllister is serving his third term on the California Energy Commission. At the Energy Commission, he leads the policy area of energy efficiency, including the Building Energy Efficiency Standards, appliance efficiency, and load management and flexibility. More broadly, he is focused on enabling modern, data-rich analytical tools to support strong clean energy policy development and program implementation.
