Pennsylvania Opens First Public NEVI Funded EV Charging Stations

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Joint Office are celebrating the state of Pennsylvania as it joins Ohio and New York as one of the first states in the nation to deploy equitable electric vehicle (EV) charging stations funded by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program.

This new station in Pittston, a historic mining town southwest of Scranton, is conveniently located just two miles from the Scranton Airport providing EV drivers with convenient accessible charging. To learn more about this station opening, read the full news article at the Joint Office website.

New Project Strengthens Reliable EV Charging Infrastructure

In line with our mission to deploy a reliable, safe, and equitable network of EV chargers, the Joint Office is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Linux Foundation (LF) Energy on the EVerest project.

LF Energy’s EVerest project will develop and maintain independent open-source software tools to help communications across charging stations, vehicles, generation resources, batteries, adjacent chargers, power grids, backend payment systems, user interfaces, and mobile devices. Having open-source resources will facilitate interoperability between charging networks and support a reliable charging experience.
