Ohio Becomes the First State to Roll Out NEVI Chargers
The first public charging station funded through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program is now open in Ohio! The $5 billion NEVI program will deploy fast chargers along more than 79,000 miles of highway.
Drivers can access the first NEVI charging station at the Pilot Travel Center along Interstate 70 at U.S. Route 42, west of Columbus. The new charging station will fill gaps in charging, add capacity, and boost the reliability of our nation’s fast charging network.
NEVI is administered by the Federal Highway Administration and supported by the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (Joint Office). To learn more about this landmark opening and other upcoming charging station launches, read the full news item at the Joint Office website.
