On the anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), DOE released county-level data on energy employment across the United States finding that energy jobs grew in nearly every county in 2022. This data builds on national and state-level data from the 2023 U.S. Energy and Employment Report (USEER)—a comprehensive summary of national and state-level energy jobs, reporting by industry, technology, and region.
SETO Deputy Director, Garrett Nilsen, joined the Your Valuable Home podcast to kick off a new series called “How We’ll Power America Going Forward.” Check out the interview (starting at 33:00) to learn more about the benefits of going solar.
The PV Performance and Modeling Collaborative (PVPMC) has announced several upcoming solar research opportunities, including PV modeling comparisons and the chance to participate in the American-Made Solar Data Bounty Prize.
DOE recently announced $30 million to lower the costs of U.S. production of rare earths and other critical minerals and materials, which are key to domestic manufacturing of clean energy technologies such as solar panels. The funding will help meet the growing demand for critical minerals in the United States, while reducing reliance on offshore supplies.
Sandia National Laboratories’ PVPMC will hold its European Workshop November 8-9, 2023 in Mendrisio, Switzerland. Proposals are sought for the event’s PVPMC sessions, which will examine the technical challenges and opportunities related to PV performance modeling and the digitalization of the PV sector with a specific focus on ground-mounted and building-integrated PV systems.
