What's New?

DOE Launches State and Local Renewable Energy Siting Program

DOE announced investments in state-based programs to improve renewable energy planning and siting for local communities. This funding is part of DOE’s new Renewable Energy Siting through Technical Engagement and Planning (R-STEP) program, which will fund state-based collaboratives and provide tailored technical assistance. Interested applicants are encouraged to begin forming collaboratives and register for a webinar on September 11. Applications are expected to open on September 12 and close on November 3.

New Funding to Reduce Non-Hardware Costs of Solar Energy Systems

SETO’s Just-in-Time Lab Call supports short-duration projects that address gaps in SETO’s research portfolio. These Just-in-Time awards support the development of datasets, analysis, and tools that reduce non-hardware costs (soft costs) and address other barriers to deploying solar and solar-plus-battery storage technologies.
