Join the Solar Decathlon High School Program as an Alumni Mentor!
Solar Decathlon Pathways (SD Pathways) is back this fall, bringing STEM career talks to U.S. high school classrooms—and we are looking for alumni and educators to participate!
SD Pathways introduces high school students to clean energy and STEM careers by connecting them with U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon® alumni.
“I believe that it is important to inform and inspire young people to get into a field that is ripe with opportunity. I love my career and am thankful for the opportunity to share my experience with young people." –2023 SD Pathways mentor
Through the SD Pathways program:
- Solar Decathlon alumni share their personal pathways to careers in architecture, engineering, renewable energy, sustainable design, or construction industries.
- Educators receive pre- or post-lesson activities and resources on careers in Architecture and Construction, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and STEM fields.
- Students and teachers gain awareness about the many paths to a STEAM career.
“Thank you for teaching us about sustainable buildings and about your work as an engineer, which left a mark on me and helped me learn what I want to be in the future!" –2023 student participant
