EVGrid Assist Webinar Announcement

May 9, 2023

Bidirectional Charging: What is it and why are people talking about it?

Join the U.S. Department of Energy for a webinar on bidirectional charging on Wednesday, May 24 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm ET as part of the EVGrid Assist: Accelerating the Transition initiative.

Electric vehicles are here. Manufacturers continue to introduce new models to meet consumer demand. Imagine a future where those vehicles offer benefits beyond their main purpose of transportation. What if the energy stored onboard could benefit drivers and support the grid when vehicles aren’t in use? The EVGrid Assist webinar on bidirectional charging will share a glimpse into the future potential of EV batteries, the grid services EVs could provide, challenges to widespread implementation, and highlights of actual projects piloting bidirectional capabilities. Register today!

EVGrid Assist: Accelerating the Transition is a cross-DOE coordination and technical assistance initiative focused on the interface between vehicle charging and the electric grid that considers the full spectrum of the R&D, deploy, use, learn cycle. The initiative includes a broad spectrum of activities that will increase stakeholder knowledge, drive actions to resolve challenges and barriers related to vehicle-grid-integration (VGI) and provide pathways for stronger VGI coordination.
