About the Building Technologies Office
The Building Technologies Office (BTO) develops, demonstrates, and accelerates the adoption of cost-effective technologies, techniques, tools, and services to enable high-performing, energy-efficient, and demand-flexible residential and commercial buildings in support of an equitable transition to a decarbonized energy system by 2050. The office provides policy, management, and direction for a balanced program of technology planning, research, development, deployment, testing, analysis, evaluation, communication, and practices to make both residential and commercial buildings more efficient and affordable and make communities more livable. It is responsible for the formulation and execution of national energy policies and programs and is responsible for establishing priorities and maintaining program balance among sub-programs within the Office.

Program Manager, Building Codes |
The Building Codes Program Manager directs strategic programs related to building energy efficiency codes in coordination with other agencies, states, and localities to prime the wider building code policy and regulatory landscape for future success. The Program Manager will participate in strategic program planning and implementation, federal budgeting and financial assistance processes, executive briefings, and establish relationships with critical stakeholders. The individual oversees a portfolio of activities, including efforts to improve the energy efficiency of building components and equipment and their effective integration using whole-building-system design techniques.

Program Manager, Emerging Technologies |
The Emerging Technologies Program Manager will lead a team of highly expert engineers and scientists and develop long term technology strategies for the development, demonstration, and deployment of emerging building technologies. The Program Manager will provide technical and management guidance and advice on the most appropriate method or procedures of analysis and evaluation to accomplish the mission and ensure optimum R&D management strategy in technical areas such as HVAC&R, lighting, envelope, energy modeling and management. The individual serves as a point of reference and expertise for other groups within the office on technical matters and compiles detailed analyses of both quantitative and qualitative facts and information from a very broad and managerially complex spectrum of activity.
