DOE Announces Funding for Zero-Emission Vehicle Corridors, Expansion of EV Charging in Underserved Communities
DOE awarded $7.4 million in funding to seven projects to accelerate the creation of zero-emission vehicle corridors that will expand the nation’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure benefitting millions of drivers across 23 states.
In addition, the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation has issued a notice of intent for funding to address challenges to achieving an equitable clean transportation future by improving the charging experience for drivers of electric vehicles and expanding charging infrastructure into underserved communities.

DOE Breaks Ground on Concentrating Solar Power Pilot Culminating $100 Million Research Effort
DOE celebrated the groundbreaking of its Generation 3 concentrating solar-thermal pilot facility at Sandia National Laboratories. This demonstration is the culmination of a $100 million research effort to develop next-generation concentrating solar-thermal power plants— which uses mirrors to concentrate sunlight to store heat or power—and showcase technology that has the potential to be a key source of energy storage.
DOE Announces New Actions to Accelerate U.S. Floating Offshore Wind Deployment
DOE announced new investments to secure U.S. leadership in floating offshore wind development by advancing offshore wind transmission planning, research and technology, and partnerships. These new actions support the goals of the Floating Offshore Wind Shot, which is expected to reduce the cost of floating offshore wind energy by more than 70% by 2035.

DOE Opens Third Round of Applications for Remote and Island Communities Seeking Technical Assistance to Bolster Energy Resilience
Applications are open for the Energy Transitions Initiative Partnership Project (ETIPP)—a technical assistance program that helps remote and island communities improve their energy systems and reduce their vulnerability to disruptions. ETIPP provides isolated communities with the skills and tools to effectively plan for extreme weather events, failures of energy infrastructure, and changing economic conditions. Submissions are due by May 19.
