What’s the Cost of Inaction? Join a Resilience Valuation Pilot Project and Find Out
Power outages can incur significant costs: lost data, diminished worker productivity, disruption to critical services, and more. The FEMP-funded Customer Damage Function (CDF) Calculator helps federal facility managers and resilience planners quantify electric grid outage impacts and justify investments in resilience solutions.
Need help getting started? FEMP is planning resilience valuation pilot projects with several federal agencies – contact FEMP if you’re interested.
Federal Utility Carbon Pollution-Free Electricity (CFE) Program Availability Map
This searchable database is designed to assist federal stakeholders in identifying CFE options that meet Executive Order 14057 requirements. Additional information about each program is also provided, including eligible customer classes, subscription size(s), contract term, program cost (if available), and a link to the program’s website.

BESS Procurement Checklist
Interested in on-site battery energy storage systems (BESS) for your site? The new BESS Procurement Checklist provides federal agencies with tasks, questions, and reference points to assist in early stages of project development.
Hail Damage Mitigation for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
Do you have an existing on-site solar PV system or a project in development? Hail Damage Mitigation for Solar PV Systems details how to determine hail risk, how robustness can be improved through system design and procurement, and what actions to take before and after hail events to reduce damage and system downtime.
Metering for Federal Solar PV in Remote Locations
Metering for solar photovoltaics is critical for operations & maintenance, and systems without metering could present life-safety concerns. The new Metering for Federal Solar PV in Remote Locations resource highlights key considerations for remote sites, presents seven potential metering options, and provides information about how to identify the optimal option for a given site

Using REopt, GSA Analyzes Distributed Energy Resource Potential at Federal Facilities
This case study highlights how REopt was used to analyze distributed energy potential at GSA sites through FEMP’s technical assistance program. The potential for solar photovoltaics, battery storage, combined heat and power, and geothermal heat pumps was evaluated, and results from this analysis led to four facilities’ inclusion in an ESPC project.
