Last Call- Apply for 2022 AFFECT Federal Agency Call

On December 2, 2022, the U.S Department of Energy’s (DOE) Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) issued a $13 million solicitation for new energy projects that will help federal facilities improve the efficiency of their operations and reduce their carbon footprint.

Applicants must register and submit application materials through EERE Exchange. The application deadline is February 28, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. ET. Questions regarding this FAC can be sent to AFFECT2022Approp@ee.doe.gov. All questions and answers related to this FAC are available to download (Q&A last updated February 13).

Applicants are limited to federal government agencies.

FEMP Focus

New Modules Released in PCNRC Training Certificate Series

The Performance Contracting National Resource Center (PCNRC), a hub of best practices for ESPCs in the federal and municipal, university, school and hospital (MUSH) markets, continues to grow with the release of the latest chapters in the Training Certificate Series. The first four interactive & accredited modules in the eight-part series are now available. Module 3: Developing Scope for Project and Request for Proposal explores the components of project development and ESCO selection as well as risk management for ESPCs. Module 4: Measurement & Verification for ESPCs highlights best project evaluation practices to ensure energy and cost savings are being met. The remaining four modules will be released on a rolling basis through early 2023.

FEMP Welcomes Two New Supervisors

Creshona Armwood is FEMP's Federal Engagement Supervisor. She joins from GSA as Chief of the Energy and Sustainability Branch for the General Services Administration Southeastern Region 4 office headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. She is experienced with FEMP’s services, having successfully secured multiple AFFECT grants for projects in her region, spoken about cybersecurity at Energy Exchange, and managed one of the largest UESC projects in GSA’s history. 

Rachel Shepherd is FEMP's new Operations Supervisor. Rachel takes on this role with seven years of prior experience at FEMP, with much of that time spent leading the Distributed Energy Program.
