Wanted: Bioenergy Technologies Project Peer Reviewers!

The U.S. Department of Energy Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) is looking for a diverse pool of subject matter experts to participate in its 2023 Project Peer Review. We are striving to expand our reviewer pool to broaden participation and create a more inclusive and equitable review process.

During the 2023 Peer Review event, projects in BETO’s research and development portfolio will be presented to the public and systematically reviewed by external subject-matter experts from industry, academia, and federal agencies. Expertise areas include but are not limited to:

  • Municipal solid waste preprocessing and utilization
  • Resource and energy recovery from organic waste streams
  • Local organic waste management strategies and impacts
  • Biochemical conversion, specifically strain engineering
  • Thermochemical conversion concentrating on catalyst development.
  • Biorefinery scale-up and process engineering
  • Process simulation
  • Feedstock logistics
  • Algae expertise
  • Life Cycle Analysis
  • Technoeconomic Analysis as it relates to biotechnology processes

If you have applied or academic knowledge in diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or energy equity and environmental justice, please consider signing up to be a peer reviewer. To apply, follow the steps on Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Funding Opportunity Exchange and send your resume to eere_bioenergy@ee.doe.gov.

To be eligible to review applications for the 2023 Project Peer Review, you must apply by November 4, 2022.
