SolarAPP Leadership Roundtable with Energy Secretary Graphic

You’re invited to join U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Jennifer M. Granholm for a mayors' roundtable on July 15 at 1 p.m. ET for the launch of the Solar Automated Permit Processing (SolarAPP+) tool, which streamlines the permit application process to enable faster deployment of clean energy.

The tool makes it easier for local governments to issue permits for rooftop solar and solar-plus-storage projects, instantly approving permits that comply with building codes and other specifications, potentially saving thousands of dollars per installation.

Secretary Granholm will discuss SolarAPP+ with DOE Solar Energy Technologies Office Director Dr. Becca Jones-Albertus, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s SolarAPP+ project lead, Jeff Cook, and mayors from across the country. They will explain how the tool fits into their clean energy and workforce plans and how other cities, towns, and counties can adopt it.
