DOE Issues Request for Information: Understanding Workforce-Development Assets and Gaps for Technical and Non-Technical Bioenergy Workforce Preparation

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office requests input from stakeholders to aid in identifying existing bioenergy workforce development opportunities:

  • Learning/skill development opportunities
  • Gaps that impede skill development and learning opportunities in bioenergy workforce development.

Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) will identify existing and emerging bioenergy workforce development tools, in addition to potential gaps in educational and training options. The evidence-based workforce development data will also assist in preparing the nation’s current and future bioenergy workforce for the rapidly and continually changing workforce demands to reskill and upskill in the bioenergy industry. Stakeholder groups from which input is requested include industry, academia, K–12 and postsecondary educators, career counselors, National Laboratories, government agencies, and other interested parties.

This RFI is available online and will be open for response until November 2, 2020.
