The Feedstock-Conversion Interface Consortium (FCIC) has released their revamped website. The FCIC develops science-based knowledge and tools to help biorefinery developers understand and mitigate biomass feedstock and process variability and their impacts on conversion performance and product quality across the biomass value chain. The goal of the consortium is to increase the chance of successful startup and operation of pioneer biorefineries.
The streamlined website features renovated content describing the FCIC’s eight main research areas. Each research area will enable the consortium to help biorefinery developers understand and mitigate biomass feedstock and process variability.
New website features include:
- Updated information about the consortium’s “quality by design” approach and revised scope
- Details and links to capabilities and facilities of National Lab partners
- A searchable and sortable publications database.
The FCIC is funded by two U.S. Department of Energy Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy technology offices: the Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) and the Advanced Manufacturing Office. The consortium brings together nine National Laboratories, industrial and academic advisors, and industrial partners.
