Lab Benchmarking Tool Launches New Feature to Link Portfolio Manager Data
The Lab Benchmarking Tool (LBT) has a new feature that allows users to create a link between their LBT buildings and the buildings in their ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® accounts. Users can then transfer energy data directly from ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager to the LBT, so they don’t have to enter it twice. The LBT can also automatically download energy data in future years so their LBT data stays up to date. For more details, visit: https://lbt.i2sl.org/energy-star.
Energy-Efficient Product Category Updates Now Available on FEMP Website
As part of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s support of FEMP’s Energy-Efficient Product Procurement program, the Lab recommends updates to a number of covered product categories on a bi-annual basis. The newest set of updates was recently published and pertains to several lighting categories, the laboratory refrigerators and freezers category, and many more. Visit FEMP’s Energy-Efficient Covered Products page to find the most up-to-date compliance information for these product categories. Register for Upcoming Electric Vehicle Site Assessment Training
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is holding a regional training session on Monday, November 18, 2019, in Gahanna, Ohio. The training, offered at no charge to attendees, is designed to provide fleet managers, fleet coordinators, and facility managers with the skills and knowledge to become subject matter experts in electric vehicle (EV) implementation. This one-day training serves as an introduction to electric vehicle technology and considerations for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) installation. Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to select the best EVs for their fleet, as well as plan and install the necessary EVSE to serve the needs of these new vehicles. FEMP Offers Last Re-Tuning Workshop of 2019
Re-tuning is proven to be a cost-effective method for identifying savings opportunities through the building automation system (BAS). Completed facility re-tunings have resulted in a 5 to 25% savings with a simple payback of 0.3 to 3.5 years. In 2019 FEMP held several on-site workshops to provide insights into re-tuning principles and instruct practitioners on how to apply the re-tuning approach. This includes the use of interval metered data and BAS trend data to uncover potential opportunities, and a checklist approach to evaluating building energy systems for best practice controls. FEMP is planning for additional workshops in 2020, but the last 2019 workshop will be held November 18–20, 2019, at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. Register now!
FEMP Offers Comprehensive ESPC Training in Portland
Register now for FEMP’s in-person ESPC training scheduled for December 3–5, 2019, in Portland, Oregon. The three-day workshop will educate attendees on how to implement energy and water projects through an ESPC. Training sessions will cover task order ordering procedures, contractor selection, energy and water resilience, risk and responsibility, measurement and verification, pricing and financing, and post award contract administration. The workshop will provide a comprehensive understanding of the ESPC process for anyone at the beginning of acquisition planning and considering the ESPC approach or already underway with a project. Registration is open to federal, DOE National Laboratory, and state and local government employees. Others may be considered on a case by case basis.
