Save the Date for the Leveraging First Generation Bioethanol Production Facilities Workshop

On September 25 and 26, 2019, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s (EERE's) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) is planning to host a workshop / industry listening day to discuss research and development related to the integration of advanced process technologies into first generation (1G) ethanol production facilities to co-produce cellulosic fuels, cellulosic sugars, and chemicals from corn fiber, and to convert or activate gaseous carbon dioxide. BETO is particularly interested in information on the development and verification of innovative process technologies and analytical methods to enable integration and retrofit into 1G ethanol plants for cost-competitive production of cellulosic biofuels and bio-products from non-starch feedstocks.

The workshop will be held at the Ames Laboratory, which is a DOE National Laboratory, operated by and located on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
