The winners of the fourth Wood Stove Design Challenge were chosen after showing off their innovative wood stoves to judges on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The expertise displayed at this international competition highlights the ingenuity of the next generation of STEM students and stimulates development of more efficient and cleaner technologies, which industry can develop and incorporate into products that provide new options for consumers.

Wood stove research and development is a part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s overall strategy to develop affordable bioenergy technologies to convert our nation’s abundant renewable biomass resources into fuels, power, and other products.
