Solar Decathlon – Next Generation

Greetings! Solar Decathlons are thriving around the world, and the U.S. DOE is actively planning for future Solar Decathlons in the U.S. so we can continue to work with you to inspire and educate the next generation.

In the past months, we’ve been reviewing the Solar Decathlon and exciting new opportunities to make the next competition impactful and relevant to today’s energy needs and educational opportunities. While we will not be releasing a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) or a Call for Teams in the near term, we thank you for your ongoing interest and commitment as we finalize our evaluation and preparation for the future.

Please stay tuned for news from us in the coming months regarding the Solar Decathlon.

The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon challenges collegiate teams to design and build full-size, energy-efficient, solar-powered houses that blend design excellence and smart energy production with innovation, market potential, and energy and water efficiency.
