EEOC ISSUES 707 OPINION LETTER

Describes Commission’s Interpretation of Section 707

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) today issued an opinion letter in response to a request from a member of the public asking for clarity on the Commission’s interpretation and enforcement of § 707(a) of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  

This opinion letter was approved by vote of the Commission on August 27, 2020 as a written interpretation or opinion of the Commission under § 713(b) of Title VII.
