NATIONAL
RESTAURANT CHAIN TO PAY $2.85 MILLION TO SETTLE CHARGES OF BIAS AGAINST OLDER
WORKERS
WASHINGTON, D.C. – EEOC representatives will host a press
call to discuss today’s settlement agreement with Seasons 52, a national restaurant
chain within the Darden family of restaurants. Seasons 52 will pay $2.85
million to settle a class age discrimination case spanning 35 restaurants
nationwide.
The EEOC’s lawsuit sought relief for the applicants, age 40
and older, that had been denied front-of-the-house
and back-of-the-house positions at Seasons 52 restaurants around the
country.
Age discrimination
in employment is a violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act
(ADEA).
