Economic Recovery Debuts at Launch Event in Oregon
On February 12, EDA's new Economic Recovery Corps hosted a four-day gathering in Portland, Oregon, for its inaugural cohort of 65 Economic Recovery Fellows. Assistant Secretary Castillo and Seattle Regional Director Sheba Person-Whitley each spoke at the event, which included networking and skill-building workshops on key topics to help Fellows and their host organizations get started.

RLF 101 Workshop
Join EDA's Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Community of Practice (CoP) and Economic Development District (EDD) Community of Practice on February 27 for an RLF 101 Workshop. Mary Louk, with Grow America, will describe how RLFs can benefit organizations and communities, and the process of applying to EDA for an RLF grant. Creating an Equitable Economy for all Americans
Marking the first anniversary of the signing of President Biden’s second Executive Order on equity, federal agencies this month released their 2023 Equity Action Plans at a White House Convening on Equity. During a panel discussion on equity, Deputy Secretary of Commerce Graves released the Commerce Department’s 2023 update to its Equity Action Plan. Through its five equity strategies, this plan will address barriers to equity so that all Americans—including those in underserved communities—have an opportunity to participate in the 21st-century economy.
