Seattle Region Boasts Multiple Recompete Program Finalists
In December, EDA announced the 22 finalists of the Distressed Area Recompete Pilot Program (Recompete), as well as the recipients of 24 Strategy Development Grants (SDG). Nine Seattle Region applicants in Alaska, Arizona, California, and Washington were recognized.
“These outstanding Recompete finalists and strategy development grant recipients exemplify the focused employment and job creation strategies required to address the unique, long-standing needs of communities,” said Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development Alejandra Y. Castillo.

Upcoming RLF Defederalization Workshop
Join the Revolving Loan Funds (RLF) Community of Practice (CoP) on February 13 for the Defederalized EDA RLF Workshop. Listen to peer leaders from the RLF CoP, Michael Belles from Catalyze, and Mitchell Harrison from EDA as they share information about the defederalization process and suggest how participants can use defederalized RLF dollars. SBA Announces America's Seed Fund Tour
In conjunction with the America’s Seed Fund program, the U.S. Small Business Administration announced a 2024 multi-city tour that will introduce innovators and entrepreneurs to technology funding opportunities with the department’s Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs. The America’s Seed Fund program is investing up to $2 million in funding for startups that are developing new technologies.
