Recompete Pilot Program Phase 1 Applications Due
The EDA team will soon begin the process of evaluating applications received for Phase 1 of the Recompete Pilot Program. Applications are due at 11:59pm EST on October 5, 2023. Phase 1 of the competition will award strategy development grants and approval of Recompete Plans. Applicants with approved Recompete Plans will be invited to apply for implementation funds under the Recompete Pilot Phase 2 NOFO. [Read More]
23 Colleges and Universities Named University Centers
In EDA’s Austin and Denver regions, 23 colleges and universities were named EDA University Centers. EDA is providing these schools a total of $16.5 million to administer programs to leverage university assets, promote innovation, and strengthen regional economies. STEM Talent Challenge Grantees Announced
EDA announced 11 recipients of the 2023 STEM Talent Challenge, a $4.5 million national competition that supports programs to train science, technology, engineering, and math talent and fuel regional innovation economies across the nation. [Read More]

Getting Drivers on the Road
Demand for CDL drivers in Texas has never been higher, yet a challenge in testing proved to delay trained drivers from getting on the road. Thanks to an EDA investment, the largest CDL examination center in the state is now open and can process 20,000 CDL exams each year. [Read More]

New tools are helping to advance regionally focused economic development in Washington state.
