Deadline Approaching: Tech Hubs Applications – Due Aug. 15
Applications for the Tech Hubs Program are due Tuesday, August 15, 2023, by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. As a reminder, applications can only be submitted through the EDGE Portal, EDA’s new grant management platform.
Please note: the reminders and tips below are for those who have started the application process.
Reminders and Tips to Successfully Submit an Application in EDGE
- Your System for Award Management (SAM.gov) registration must be current and up-to-date.
- Please set up your application team in EDGE as soon as possible to avoid any submission delays.
- The Lead Applicant (i.e., lead consortium member—see NOFO p. 8) is the organization that selects “Apply Now” in EDGE.
- The individual who first created an application for the Lead Applicant can invite additional individuals from their organization or third parties via the “Application Team” functionality. Please note: you will not invite other consortium members through the Application Team functionality. See No. 4 below. Please invite only those individuals who need to access the Lead Applicant’s submission materials in the EDGE platform via the Application Team.
- Additions to the Application Team require a two-step EDA security approval process, which can take up to 24 hours to complete.
- The Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) is the only person who can submit the application in EDGE. Check out this tutorial to confirm who is identified as your AOR.
- Read the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) in its entirety. Many of your questions can be answered by thoroughly reading the document or referencing the Tech Hubs Frequent Asked Questions. If you have questions, please email TechHubs@eda.gov.
- Consortium members (i.e., organizations other than the Lead Applicant) must be added to the application via the Association tab prior to submission. Consortium members will need to create an account and verify their involvement with the proposed project in the EDGE system.
- Letters may be organized using the following categories. (Please try to make these categories clear using a table of contents or some other system of labeling.)
- Letter or letters of Consortium Commitment (see NOFO pages 23 and 24): “A letter or letters identifying the consortium lead as well as evidencing that each consortium member has read the application and is committed to executing its roles, responsibilities, or commitments related to the project. In the letter identifying the consortium lead, the lead entity should self-identify which entity type it is consistent with types of entities eligible for membership in a consortium as delineated in section C.1. of this NOFO.”
- Letters of Commitment from non-Consortium Members (e.g., a hiring commitment, policy change commitment, commitment to provide event space, etc. from someone who is not a formal member of the consortium).
- Letters of General Support (e.g., a letter supporting the application from a local state official with no commitments).
