Economic Development Districts: Leading the Way on Pandemic Economic Recovery

On May 26, EDA staff and Economic Development District (EDD) stakeholders from across the nation will share strategies and best practices for economic recovery in a virtual event hosted by the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) Research Foundation. Participants will learn how EDDs are assisting their communities and regions in a variety of ways, including through resilience planning, administering Revolving Loan Funds, connecting local businesses with resources and information, forging new partnerships and coalitions, and launching creative initiatives to support with long-term recovery and diversification. New Tool: Analysis Platform for Risk, Resilience, and Expenditure

Indiana University’s Crisis Technologies Innovation Lab is launching the Analysis Platform for Risk, Resilience and Expenditure in Disasters (APRED), a map-based tool for exploring the disaster resilience and vulnerability profiles of counties across the United States. Practitioners and policy makers can use APRED to visualize and drill-down into resilience metrics for a particular county, including its capacity to recover from disaster events with minimal losses, and the percentage of businesses that might be vulnerable.
