New Video Highlights the Importance of EMS Data The Office of EMS has created an engaging two-minute animated video that follows EMS data from the moment they are collected at the scene to when they are analyzed and used to improve care from the local to the national level. The video, intended for all members of the EMS community, highlights the importance of collecting and sharing accurate information, and the numerous ways agencies, policymakers, researchers and others use it. Preventing EMS Worker Injuries and Exposures |
The NHTSA Office of EMS collaborated with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to research on-the-job injuries in EMS. According to the four-year study, more than 22,000 EMS workers visited emergency departments each year for work-related injuries. NIOSH and NHTSA created a fact sheet with tips on what EMS employers can do to prevent injuries and exposures among workers. Read More |
