FMCSA is Now Accepting 2024 Grant Funding Applications
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced the availability of more than $180 million in grants to improve commercial motor vehicle (CMV) safety.
Grant applications accepted through 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 19, 2024.The grants are open to state, local, and tribal government, universities, colleges, vocational and truck driving schools, nonprofits, and more. Individuals are not eligible.
Goals, criteria, and eligibility differ for each grant. Click the grant below to find more information about the requirement for each opportunity.

Universities, Colleges, & Truck Driver Schools
Does your school offer programs to train commercial truck and bus drivers or have ideas to increase CMV safety? If so, now’s the time to consider the CMVOST, CDLPI and the HP-CMV grants for funding.

Law Enforcement, Transportation, & Driver’s Licensing Organizations
Does your agency increase commercial driver’s license enforcement or compliance? Organizations interested in grant funding should apply for the CMVOST, CDLPI, or a High Priority grant.

State, Local, & Tribal Government Agencies
State highway patrol, state police, county police, state, local and tribal governments and others may have a project that’s eligible for a CMVOST, CDLPI, or a High Priority grant.

Where: Funding is available to organizations nationwide including U.S. territories.
How to learn more: If interested, read the “Notice of Funding Opportunities” (NOFOs) for each of the five grants, which are posted on www.grants.gov. (Type FMCSA in the Keywords box or use the links above.)
When: Grant application season is underway through 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time April 19, 2024.
