Federal Highway Emergency Relief Projects

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will hold a webinar on Tuesday, October 23 to share information and best practices on incorporating resilience into emergency relief projects under the FHWA emergency relief program.  The webinar will cover FHWA regulations and guidance on the topic, frequently asked questions, FHWA resilience research and technical assistance, and examples from Texas and Colorado. There will also be time for questions and discussion. 

Staff of federal, state and local transportation agencies involved with FHWA-funded emergency relief projects are invited to attend.

FHWA’s Emergency Relief program provides funds to state and local governments for the repair or reconstruction of highways which have suffered serious damage as a result of natural disasters or catastrophic failures from an external cause.

FHWA provides research and technical assistance on improving the resilience of transportation infrastructure to extreme weather and changing conditions.
