FHWA National Dialogue on Highway Automation: Introductory Webinar
May 8, 1:00-2:30 PM ET– This webinar will provide an overview of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)'s upcoming National Dialogue meetings. The National Dialogue is a series of meetings to be held across the country to facilitate information sharing, identify key issues, and prepare the broader transportation community to safely and efficiently integrate automated vehicles into the road network. The webinar will discuss ongoing and planned national initiatives in automation, and present top highway automation focus areas to be explored through the Dialogue.

Kelarestaghi, all of Virginia Tech, will present their research on current security threats to the transportation network. This includes their risk-based qualitative analysis of the vulnerability of variable message signs to cyber attack. Viewers of this webinar will learn about several possible impacts that ITS security vulnerabilities might impose on road users and system operators.
