USDOT Celebrates Women's History Month 2024  

Examining New Opportunities to Advance Gender Justice Across the Transportation Sector

In celebration of Women’s History Month, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) invites you to join an in-person and virtual event reflecting on advancements in Gender Justice in the transportation sector. This event will include two panels of industry leaders at the forefront of applying a Gender Justice lens and implementing strategies that intend to positively shift outcomes for women, girls, and gender diverse people across the sector. The panel discussions will be followed by an audience Q&A and networking session.   The event will be moderated byPolly Trottenberg (Deputy Secretary of Transportation at USDOT) and Irene Marion (Director of the Departmental Office of Civil Rights at USDOT)Panelists include: 

 

  • Ann McNeill, Founder, National Association of Black Women in Construction (NABWIC) and President & CEO of MCO Construction 
  • April Rai, President & CEO, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) 
  • Dr. Destiny Deguzman (nee Thomas), Founder and CEO, Thrivance Group 
  • Eboni Wimbush, President & CEO, Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) 
  • Hilary Norton, Commissioner and Executive Director, California Transportation Commission (CTC) and Executive Director & Founder, FASTLinkDTLA 
  • Sara Stickler, President & CEO, Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) 
  • Veronica Vanterpool, Acting Administrator, Federal Transit Administration

Registration for in-person attendance to this event is required by March 20th. Please also note that capacity for the Women's History Month is restricted by space limitations. Registrations will be reviewed and approved to ensure that all modes and geographic areas are represented. Upon approval, attendees will receive a confirmation email with details about the event. Note: due to security procedures, non-US citizens should register by March 18th. 

This event will also be livestreamed and recorded. No registration is needed for virtual attendance.
