DOT hosted three Thriving Communities Program (TCP) webinars for potential applicants of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) (October 12 and 19) and for the Call for Letters of Interest (LOI) (October 13). Materials from the three webinars are now available on the Thriving Communities Program Webinars page, including presentation slides, recordings, and a list of those who agreed to share their information as potential Capacity Builders. A Spanish translation of the Call for Letters of Interest is now posted on the TCP website, but DOT requires that all applications be submitted in English.
Thriving Communities Program FAQs Now Available
DOT published a series of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) related to the Thriving Communities Program. These FAQs supplement the TCP NOFO and Call for LOIs to provide clarifying information on questions the Department has received from potential applicants. For additional questions, please reach out to ThrivingCommunities@dot.gov.
The Thriving Communities Program NOFO is now available on Grants.gov. You can find it by searching Opportunity Number DOT-TCP-FY22-01. Applications in response to the NOFO must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on November 22, 2022. As a reminder, you must complete the Grants.gov registration process before submitting the final application, which can take several weeks to finalize. Applicants are encouraged to start the Grants.gov registration process now. Visit the How to Apply page for more information.
If a prospective Thriving Communities Program applicant is experiencing delays related to the SAM.gov/UEI/Grants.gov registration, one solution is for that entity (“intended applicant”) to partner with another eligible applicant (“submitting applicant”) with an active Grants.gov account to submit on behalf of the intended applicant. DOT does not require an active UEI at the time of application but does require an active UEI to be a recipient of Federal funds, if awarded.
If an applicant pursues this option, DOT encourages the applicant to:
- Identify the intended applicant [organization name and location] upon whose behalf the submitting applicant is acting at the top of the application narrative.
- Note – the submitting applicant does NOT have to serve as the recipient / administrative agent of the grant, if awarded.
