AMJP UPDATE: Final opportunity to apply for the Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection (AMJP) program
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will re-open the Aviation Manufacturing Jobs Protection (AMJP) program application process one last time, beginning Monday, November 8, 2021 and ending on Monday, December 13, 2021 (at precisely 7:59 p.m. Eastern time).
For this final round of applications, DOT will process applications in the order received.
DOT has decided to reopen the application process because of continued questions about the relationship between the AMJP and the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) programs.
Although the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 authorized the continuation of ERTCs beyond July 1, 2021, it did so through a separate statutory provision, rather than extending the original provision under the CARES Act. Therefore, ERTCs accrued after July 1, 2021 do not affect DOT’s ability to award an AMJP agreement to an otherwise eligible applicant.
All other requirements remain the same, including the requirement to have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) before submitting an AMJP application. For more information:
- Review the program website at https://www.transportation.gov/amjp.
- The prior webinars are all still available (each less than an hour, all available at no cost).
- DOT anticipates posting additional updates on the website shortly.
- For questions about your SAM registration, call (866) 606-8220 or go to https://sam.gov/content/home.
- For help with the GrantSolutions platform, call (301) 818-5210 or email dot.amjp@grantsolutions.gov.
- For questions about AMJP after reviewing the web resources, email AMJP@dot.gov.
If you already applied for AMJP support, and received an award or have been notified that your application is approved, then please disregard this notice. If you applied and were found ineligible or disqualified, then you may reapply. We encourage you to review the webinars on the AMJP website before reapplying.
