Dear Stakeholder Community,
I am pleased to announce that Nakisha Pugh has been selected to be OFCCP’s Division of Program Operations (DPO) Director. A 24-year career veteran of the Department of Labor, Nakisha has significant institutional and historical knowledge of policy, enforcement, and operational initiatives.
Nakisha joined OFCCP in 2000 as a compliance investigator in the Washington DC District Office. In 2007, she was promoted to a senior compliance investigator in the Functional Affirmative Action Program (FAAP) Branch of DPO and in 2012, she was promoted to FAAP Branch Chief. Nakisha has more than 20 years of experience with OFCCP and has served for the past ten years in leadership roles. She received her bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University and her master’s degree from George Washington University.
Nakisha recently served as Director of Education and Stakeholder Engagement in the National Office’s Division of Policy and Program Development from 2022 - 2024. In this capacity, she was instrumental in developing and executing a robust education and outreach communication program that leverages technology to disseminate consistent messaging to internal and external stakeholders, including vulnerable workers. In support of this Administration’s commitment to building the middle class by advancing accessible pathways for all workers to the construction trades, Nakisha built alliances with DOL contacts to help amplify OFCCP’s Megaproject Program and strategically formed new relationships with external stakeholders like tradeswomen groups, unions, and veteran-serving organizations.
Nakisha spearheaded the FAAP relaunch, which resulted in increased participation in the program. Annually, Nakisha plays an integral role in the development of OFCCP’s agency management plan. Nakisha has been at the forefront of innovation and process improvements throughout her tenure in our National Office.
I look forward to working with Nakisha in her new role as DPO Director. I want to thank Tina Williams for serving as Acting DPO Director for the past several months.
Nakisha begins her new position on Monday, October 21, 2024. Please join me in congratulating her.
Best,
Michele Hodge
