Making OFCCP Aware of Workplace Discrimination
The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) enforces laws that prohibit employers who do business with the federal government (federal contractors and subcontractors) from discriminating against employees and applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. Employers are also prohibited from discharging or otherwise discriminating against applicants or employees who inquire about, discuss or disclose their compensation or that of others, subject to certain limitations. It is also illegal for these employers to retaliate against employees or applicants for assisting or participating in a compliance evaluation or complaint investigation or for opposing acts or practices made unlawful by OFCCP's laws.
Today, OFCCP updated its frequently asked questions to explain the array of options available to community organizations and individuals to make OFCCP aware of a worker issue, complaint, or other information about a potential violation involving a federal contractor and/or subcontractor.
For additional information on these options, the agency’s complaint process, and workplace rights, please visit OFCCP’s complaint webpage.
