The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs Releases New Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act Resources
Today, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs released new resources to help veterans and employers understand the protections under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) of 1974. Under VEVRAA, federal contractors and subcontractors are prohibited from engaging in discrimination in employment practices against veterans and requires employers to take action to provide equal employment opportunity in recruitment, hiring, promoting and retaining protected veterans.
The resources include a series of videos highlighting the importance and benefits of self-identification and informing viewers which veterans are protected by VEVRAA. We also released new Promising Practices and updated our Frequently Asked Questions with new guidance to help employers comply with VEVRAA. Our new VEVRAA landing page includes links to the new resources.
Please see our resources related to VEVRAA:
At OFCCP we are dedicated to connecting veterans to the good jobs they want and need. Veterans have sacrificed over and over again and more than deserve to have access to the historic new investments in not only American infrastructure, but all jobs across this great nation.
OFCCP honors generations of veterans who have made sacrifices for our nation.
