OFCCP Honors Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) honors the Nation’s veterans who have given so much to protect our freedoms and the freedom of others around the world. We express gratitude to our retired service members and those who currently serve with an unwavering commitment to protect our nation, many times at a great personal sacrifice to themselves and their families.

OFCCP proudly works to ensure equal employment opportunities among federal contractors and subcontractors for protected veterans and spouses of protected veterans by enforcing the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA). VEVRAA prohibits federal contractors and subcontractors from discriminating in employment against protected veterans and their spouses and requires employers to take action to provide equal employment opportunity in recruiting, hiring, promoting, and retaining these individuals.

In Fiscal Year 2023, OFCCP entered into conciliation agreements with federal contractors and subcontractors to resolve discrimination allegations totaling over $270,000 in back wages for protected veterans.

OFCCP provides resources to veterans to understand their rights and to federal contractors to protect veterans from workplace discrimination including:
