Dear OFCCP stakeholders:
It has been my honor and privilege to serve as the Director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) from the first day of this Administration. I write to share with you that I will be concluding my tenure at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) on March 31, 2023, to serve at the White House Domestic Policy Council as Deputy Assistant to the President for Racial Justice and Equity beginning April 3, 2023.
This announcement is bittersweet. OFCCP has accomplished important work over the past two years to strengthen our impact and make a difference in the lives of workers. I am grateful to OFCCP’s stakeholders from whom I have learned so much. Your commitment to the work of equal opportunity is invaluable.
We are fortunate that our Deputy Director Michele Hodge will serve as our Acting Director. OFCCP will play a critical role in the years ahead to ensure that our nation’s once-in-a-generation investments in our infrastructure and economy create opportunities for us all to access good jobs with family sustaining wages. The leadership at DOL and I have every confidence that Michele will advance our shared priorities and provide continuity at an important and exciting time for the agency.
From day one, the Biden-Harris Administration has committed to a whole of government approach to advance racial justice and equity. On February 16, 2023, President Biden reaffirmed this commitment by issuing an Executive Order on Further Advancing Racial Equity and Underserved Communities Through The Federal Government.
In my new role, I will work on a broad range of issues, including equal opportunity in employment, criminal justice, democracy and voting, disability policy, Native Affairs, racial wealth gap, and many others to continue the work to deliver on this promise.
I have much gratitude to our OFCCP team across the country for the dedication and expertise they bring to our work every day. I wish everyone across our agency and stakeholder community success in the vital work of ensuring America’s commitment to equal opportunity is a reality for all.
Best regards,
Jenny R. Yang
