Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Today, OFCCP recognizes Military Spouse Appreciation Day. We express our sincere gratitude to the spouses of our nation’s service members and honor the significant sacrifices they make. OFCCP works to ensure equal employment opportunity for veterans and their spouses. 

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) strives to reduce barriers to employment faced by military spouses. OFCCP has specific protections in place to protect military spouses from workplace discrimination. Under the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), it is unlawful for a federal contractor to discriminate in employment against a qualified individual who the contractor knows to be the spouse of a protected veteran.
