This position is located in the Department of Labor (DOL), Employment and Training Administration (ETA), Office of Foreign Labor Certification (OFLC), Chicago National Processing Center (CNPC), Temporary Labor Certification Program . OFLC provides national leadership and policy guidance to carry out the responsibilities of the Secretary of Labor under the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended, concerning foreigners seeking admission to the United States in order to work. OFLC issues labor certifications for permanent and temporary employment that permits U.S. employers to hire foreign workers, temporarily and permanently to fill jobs essential to the U.S. economy when there are not sufficient U.S. workers who are able, willing, qualified, and available to perform the job. This position is the supervisor of the Temporary Labor Certification Unit functioning as an expert in various aspects of Immigration law to include possessing a working knowledge of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and the permanent immigrant and temporary non-immigrant employment-based programs administered by OFLC. The position is outside the bargaining unit. This position is at the full performance level GS-14. *A recruitment incentive may be offered in accordance with the Department of Labor's Personnel Regulation (DPR) Chapter 575.*

This position is located in the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Pullman, WA. This position has promotion potential to GS-07. Promotion Potential: There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval. THIS POSITION IS PART TIME ONLY AND DOES NOT LEAD TO FULL TIME. Hourly rate of this position is $15.00 to $19.50 per hour. Economic Assistants are paid this hourly rate depending on the number of scheduled hours. This position is a permanent part-time position. Some weekend or evening hours will be required. The weekly hours of work vary, but are expected to average 16-32 hours per week. The average weekly and/or total hours may increase or decrease. NOTE: Work in retail stores must be completed during normal business hours. The majority of work is within Whitman county and Spokane, WA and includes neighborhoods of all economic types. This position is inside the bargaining unit. Relocation costs will not be paid. The selectee may be placed on a formal telework agreement, and the location of the telework office will be identified in the agreement. At least one position will be filled through this vacancy. If additional vacancies become available, additional selections will be made.
