Happy 249th Birthday to the United States Army
Join us in proudly celebrating the 249th birthday of the United States Army! As the oldest military branch, the U.S. Army has played a critical role in defending the freedoms we hold dear for nearly two and a half centuries.
As we honor this significant milestone, we also reflect on the contributions that DOL VETS has made to our military over the years. DOL VETS has been committed to supporting the military community since 1981 by ensuring that our nation's veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses have access to the resources, programs, and support they need to find employment in the civilian workforce.
The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) was established in 1991 to help service members and their families prepare for life after the military. Resources for transitioning service members and veterans grew over the years, so VETS organized a VETS Resource Guide to offer easy access to the different workshop topics.
These resources are available for all transitioning service members, veterans, spouses and caregivers, regardless of their branch of service DOL VETS is proud to support our service members and their families as they navigate their return to civilian life.
