Heat Illness Prevention Resources

We published a Hazard Alert on Extreme Heat and three new fact sheets: Keeping Workers Well-Hydrated, Personal Risk Factors and Heat Exposure, and Prevent Heat Illness Among Pregnant Workers. All are available in English and Spanish.

In addition, an updated Work Safely in Heat Illustrated Fact Sheet and Heat Stress QuickCard are now available in seven languages.

Suicide Prevention Resource for Employers

We developed a new two-page fact sheet on the Role of Employers in Preventing Suicides. This resource is available in English and Spanish.

New Spanish-Language Newsletter

OSHA Rulemaking Updates and Events

Stay abreast of these and all OSHA events:

October 13: Date inspections may begin under OSHA’s National Emphasis Program on Warehousing and Distribution Center Operations.
October 19: Federal Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH) Meeting (1-4 PM ET). Listen-only via WebEx.
October 24: Whistleblower Stakeholder Meeting: Outreach and Training (1-4 PM ET). Register in English or Spanish by Oct. 17.
October 30: Deadline to submit comments on OSHA's Proposed Rule: Worker Walkaround Representative Designation Process.
November 7: Deadline to submit comments on how OSHA can improve its Whistleblower Protection Program outreach and training efforts.
November 14: Maritime Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH) Meeting (9 AM-12 PM ET; Workgroup meetings 1-5 PM ET). Submit comments and requests to speak by Oct. 31.
November 30: Deadline to submit responses to OSHA's stakeholder questions on Establishing Safety as a Core Workplace Value.
January 1: Effective date of OSHA's new injury and illness information submission requirements.
January 2: Covered employers can begin electronically submitting CY 2023 injury and illness data through the Injury Tracking Application (Jan. 2 to March 2).

New NSC Initiative to Reduce Workplace Overdose Fatalities

The National Safety Council (NSC) launched a new workplace safety program, Respond Ready Workplace, to increase awareness of the need for naloxone in workplaces and for worker training to use it in the event of an overdose.
