120-DAY CYBERSECURITY APRENTICESHIP SPRINT
Today kicks off a 120-day Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Sprint, a U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) initiative in partnership with the White House and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Sprint is a national campaign to encourage employers, industry associations, labor unions, and training providers to explore Registered Apprenticeship as a recruitment, training, and retention strategy and connect with DOL's Office of Apprenticeship to develop new Registered Apprenticeship programs or quickly join existing programs. The Sprint seeks to promote the Registered Apprenticeship model as a solution for numerous industries to develop and train a skilled cybersecurity workforce. LEARN MORE

FIRST APPRENTICESHIP AMBASSADORS ANNOUNCED
On July 12, DOL announced the selection of the first cohort of 207 officials and organizations chosen to serve as Apprenticeship Ambassadors to promote, diversify, and expand Registered Apprenticeship and create pathways into quality jobs, especially for underserved and marginalized communities that need them the most. Ambassadors communicate the value of Registered Apprenticeships as a workforce strategy in high-demand industries and have committed to develop and expand opportunities for people who have been underserved historically. APPRENTICESHIP BUILDING AMERICA GRANTS
On July 7, DOL announced the award of more than $121 million in Apprenticeship Building America grants to strengthen and modernize Registered Apprenticeship programs and enable workers to find a reliable pathway to the middle class. The department awarded more than $58 million to grantees focusing on equity partnerships and pre-apprenticeship activities. LEARN MORE

SECRETARY’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON APPRENTICESHIP ISSUES INTERIM REPORT
The Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship presented its Interim Report to the Secretary of Labor on Monday, May 16th. The Report provides recommendations around increasing DEIA in apprenticeship, apprenticeship modernization, industry engagement in new and emerging sectors, and the development of apprenticeship pathways (pre-apprenticeship, youth apprenticeship, and degree apprenticeship). POST YOUR APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITIES
We are excited to announce that employers and sponsors can now post their apprenticeship openings on the Apprenticeship.gov Job Finder by creating a posting on the new “Recruit Talent” tab within the Registered Apprenticeship Partners Information Database System (RAPIDS). Listing your apprenticeship opportunity or program on RAPIDS increases the chance for employers and sponsors to feature openings and allows career seekers to easily access your job application or point-of-contact. ENHANCED STANDARDS BUILDER TOOL
The Office of Apprenticeship has recently released an enhanced Standards Builder Registration online tool for potential sponsors to use to develop new apprenticeship standards. This process leverages technology to provide an electronic platform for registering standards and ensures greater standardization. LEARN MORE

The National Apprenticeship Act (also known as the Fitzgerald Act) was enacted on August 16, 1937, which established the nation’s apprenticeship system. Stay tuned for more information regarding activities to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Act next month.
