COVID-19 Resources

OSHA continues to update its COVID-19 webpage with guidance for employers and workers.  The page includes publications, OSHA alerts and guidance for specific industries, videos, FAQs, posters, and enforcement guidance.

Safe + Sound Week

Safe + Sound Week is Aug. 10-16, 2020.  The week is a nationwide event held each August to recognize the successes of workplace safety and health programs.  OSHA has updated the Safe + Sound Week website to include a registration form and resources to help employers plan and promote their activities.

Fall Prevention Stand-Down

The National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction will be Sep. 14-18, 2020.  Employers in any industry that would like to raise awareness of fall prevention can participate.

Teen Workers in Construction

CPWR has issued infographics on teen workers in construction.  The infographics support the #KeepTeenWorkersSafe campaign, and can be used in social media, print materials, and presentations.

The Joint Commission and Joint Commission Resources published an article called "Standing Up for Safety: Help Prevent Slips, Trips, and Falls."

NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards

A new video shows how to use the NIOSH Mobile Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards app.  Redesigned in 2019, the app is easier to use and has improved functionality on smaller mobile screens.

NIOSH Worker Health Charts

NIOSH recently updated its Worker Health Charts to make them faster and more responsive. This page uses NIOSH and BLS information to allow users to create charts to assess current rates, distribution, and trends in workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths


FACE

NIOSH FACE Reports and Products

The NIOSH Fatality Assessment and Control Evaluation (FACE) Program conducts investigations on workplace fatalities to identify the factors that contributed to these fatal injuries. Harwood Grants

OSHA has posted a new video that explains the Susan Harwood Training Grants application process.

The following materials developed by grantees under OSHA’s Susan Harwood Training Grant Program were posted on the OSHA website from April 1 to June 30, 2020. See the OSHA website for a complete list of a materials developed by Harwood grantees. These materials do not necessarily reflect the official views of OSHA.

Excavation and Trenching

  • The University of Texas at El Paso developed materials in English and Spanish on trenching and excavation.
  • Washington On-Site Sewage Association developed materials on trenching and excavation for workers in the wastewater and sewage industry.
  • Western Iowa Technical Community College developed materials on trenching and excavation.

Silica in Construction

  • Western Carolina University developed materials on silica in construction.
  •  Mississippi State University developed materials on silica in construction.
  • National Jewish Health developed materials in English and Spanish on silica in construction.

Confined Spaces in Construction

  • Rutgers School of Public Health developed materials in English and Spanish on confined spaces in construction.

Construction and Recycling

  • Community Service Employment Services developed materials on chemical hazard, fall prevention, and machine guarding training for workers in the recycling and construction industries.

Fall Prevention

  • Casa Latina developed materials in English and Spanish on fall prevention for day laborers and janitorial workers.

Grain Handling

  • Iowa State University developed materials on grain dust explosion prevention.

Health Care

  • New Mexico Direct Caregivers developed materials on chemical hazards for health care workers.

Hurricane Response

  • University of Puerto Rico, Medical Science Campus developed materials in English and Spanish on hurricane disaster cleanup.

Oil and Gas

  • The University of Utah developed hazard prevention training materials for workers in the oil and gas industry. Training topics included general site safety, heat stress, slips/trips/falls, low back pain, and chemical hazards/global harmonization system.

Shipyards

  • The Port of San Diego Ship Repair Association developed materials on machinery and power tool hazards in shipyards.
