This position is located in the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Workers' Compensation Programs, Division of Federal Employees' Compensation, San Francisco, CA. The District Office is responsible for administering the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA) and related laws within the geographic boundaries of a designated compensation district. The Federal Employees Compensation Act provides compensation for job-related injuries and death sustained by Federal employees and others eligible for benefits of the FECA, and related acts. Benefits include wage replacement, payment for medical care, and where necessary, medical and vocational rehabilitation assistance in returning to work. The program has 12 district offices nationwide. The Division of FECA adjudicates, investigates, pay benefits for claims; manages ongoing cases; pays medical expenses and compensation benefits to injured workers and survivors; and helps injured employees return to work when they are medically able to do so.
