Honoring and Hiring Veterans

A new program will recognize businesses that hire and retain veterans, and encourage others to do the same. The U.S. Department of Labor announced the HIRE Vets Medallion Program at its Salute to Veterans, an annual event to recognize and thank veterans for their service.

Private employers reported fewer nonfatal workplace injuries and illnesses last year, about 2.9 million total.

OSHA cited a Georgia auto parts manufacturer for workplace hazards following multiple employee injuries.
