Job Summary:

This position is located in the Department of Labor, Office of Workers' Compensation Programs, Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC), Jacksonville, FL. The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) provides compensation and medical benefits for covered workers who sustained employment related illnesses as a result of exposure to beryllium, ionizing radiation, toxic chemicals and other hazards unique to nuclear weapons production and testing. Survivors of deceased covered workers are entitled to file claims for survivor benefits and may also receive compensations benefits. This is a highly complex position that requires a strong attention to detail and independent work, extensive case review and fact finding, strong writing ability and communication skills, knowledge of medical conditions and legal authorities, and investigative skills. This position has promotion potential to GS-12. Promotion Potential: There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval. - This position is inside the bargaining unit. -Relocation expenses will not be paid.
