Job Summary:

This position is located in the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Prices and Living Conditions (OPLC), within the Division of Price and Index Number Research (DPINR). The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is the principal Federal agency responsible for measuring labor market activity, working conditions, and price changes in the economy. Its mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate essential economic and statistical information to support public and private decision-making. Users of BLS data include the public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business, and labor. The BLS also serves as a statistical resource to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). As an independent statistical agency, BLS serves its diverse user communities by providing products and services that are objective, timely, accurate, and relevant. This position has no further promotion potential. This position is inside the bargaining unit. A writing sample may be required at time of interview. This position will not be filled until the Department's Placement Assistance Programs have been fully utilized.
