Dear SCAAP Recipient:
The Bureau of Justice Assistance is pleased to announce that the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) awards have been processed and are ready for acceptance in Justice Grants System (JustGrants) and subsequent drawdown in the Automated Standard Application for Payments (ASAP) System.
The FY 2023 SCAAP award amounts are listed on the SCAAP website. To access FY 2023 SCAAP award funds, entities must assign users in the JustGrants electronically accept the award in JustGrants within 45 days, enroll in ASAP, and request payment (drawdown) in ASAP as soon as practicable, but not later than 12-20-24.
REMINDER: To improve security, the Treasury Department changed the ASAP log in process in September 2023. The Department of Justice grant recipients must register and enable multi-factor authentication with ID.me in order to log in to ASAP.gov.
The email from JustGrants contains standard language included in all JustGrants award notifications. While the Entity Administrator must assign a Grant Award Administrator, Financial Manager, and Authorized Representative for the SCAAP award to be accepted, financial reports, performance reports, and grant award modifications are not applicable to SCAAP.
